Are you a student interested in working with media art and supporting international media art production? M-Cult is looking for candidates for an internship as a Communication and Programme Assistant for four months starting from the beginning of April 2025. We are flexible with the start and end dates of the internship. 


M-Cult is an Helsinki-based media art producer that promotes different forms of media art and digital culture, with a focus on cultural and social aspects of media and technology. Through this internship, you will develop practical skills in media art production and communication while engaging with the evolving intersections of media, art and society, while working closely with the professionals in the field. The applicant is required to have internship funding from their university: M-Cult will cover the internship costs according to the university’s internship guidelines.

 

As a Communication & Production Assistant at M-Cult you will:

  • Assist with M-Cult ’s programme-related communication and production work 
  • Assist with the data migration and the setting up of M-Cult’s upcoming new website
  • Update and create content for M-Cult’s website, social media channels and newsletters 
  • Maintain administrative tasks and handle daily office matters
     

What we wish from you:

  • An interest in media art and culture with studies from programmes suitable for the position, such as art history, communications, media, art & culture or producing
  • Good English skills: M-Cult’s working languages ​​are English and Finnish (Finnish skills are not mandatory in this position) 
  • Communication skills: You will be in touch with people by email, phone, and in person during events and daily activities
  • Knowledge of social media platforms

Working hours and salary:

  • The internship is part-time (50%). The working hours are 20 hours weekly including lunch breaks.The salary is 1 050 € a month, including university’s internship support. 
  • Flexible working hours and start and ending dates are possible. We expect the assistant to start latest by the beginning of April.

The interviews will be held during the week starting from 24 of February 2025, either at M-Cult’s office or online, according to the applicant’s preference. We will send the questions and provide information about the interview in advance. The interviews will be conducted by M-Cult’s Director Jussi Koitela and Communication Manager Laura Jurmu, and will be held in Finnish or English.
