A New Chapter for M-Cult: Launch of New Website and Visual Identity

As summer begins, Art & Media Culture Agency M-Cult is proud to unveil its newly launched website — a platform that reflects the organisation’s evolving direction and new visual identity. This step marks M-Cult’s commitment to continue our work with art, media culture and community-rooted artistic practices.

Visual Identity: Embodying togetherness

The new website and visual identity has been realised through M-Cult’s collaboration with graphic designer Amy Gelera & web-developer Oskar Koli. Their combined expertise results in a site that not only looks distinctive but supports M-Cult’s long-term ambitions and values.

The new visual identity, designed by Gelera, draws from the materiality of technology — the way cables twist, knot, and hold things together. This visual language embodies the balance between the communal and the technological, creating a soft space in which to reflect on where various technologies stand today and where they might take us.

Rooted in this idea, the visual identity embraces the often intertwined relationships between artists, communities, and the technologies they engage with. It also reflects M-Cult’s commitment to sustainable production, participatory methods, and critical engagement with digital tools and infrastructures.

The New Website

The new website presents M-Cult’s long history and multifaceted productions which unfold in multiple directions — from long-term frameworks such as Maunula Collaborations (2016–) to international collaborations such as Everyday Priorities – Art, Technology and Accommodations (2024–). The site communicates M-Cult's aim to bring together artists, researchers and communities working at the intersection of media, art and society.

Through this new website, M-Cult provides information on our current productions, documents and archives collaborative processes, and provides resources for anyone interested in the social dimensions of art, media culture and technology.

Archives & Old Website

The new website is now open, and we will be updating information over the autumn, especially regarding the archives. We are also happy to announce that the old website will not disappear but rather remain as a media art archive for artists and researchers. In case you need data from there, please get in touch, and we will provide you the access instructions.

A Strategic Renewal for 2025

In 2025, M-Cult enters a new strategic phase that strengthens connections across disciplines, technologies, and social realities. While staying true to our mission of supporting socially-engaged media culture and art, M-Cult will place increased emphasis on sustainable models of production, long-term partnerships, and critical discourse on media, technology and democracy.

The website and visual identity are key elements in this transformation — offering a clear framework for the years to come.

We are delighted to share this website with you. Explore the new site and discover how M-Cult continues to bring together technology, art, and communities in meaningful ways!
