Expanded city symposium, May 7-8 at WRO'09 biennale, Wroclaw

The WRO biennale celebrated it 20th anniversary. The Biennale theme "Expanded City" extends Gene Youngblood's (1970) concept of expanded media: The city becomes a metaphor for shared space for exchange and communication, expanding and diversifying through new technologies.

Minna Tarkka's talk at the WRO Expanded city symposium was titled "Media art and public access - democracy, technology, locality?" In it she discussed dimensions of urban media and shared experiences of m-cult's projects on the theme.
