Caroline Sinders
Caroline Sinders is a machine-learning-design researcher, human rights activist and an artist. She works at the intersection of these fields, examining technology’s impact on society with particular interest in issues such as bias in AI and interface design, equity, intersectional data collection or safety and abuse in cyber conversational spaces. Her practice centres around scrutinising the processes of machine learning, asking how each step in its making – from data collection to algorithm modelling – can be re-thought as feminist, socially just and community-oriented. These questions are also at the centre of her collaborative project titled Feminist Data Set.
