The 3rd edition of the Media Facades Festival Helsinki is organised in August 22.-25, 2013 in context of the Helsinki Festival. The opening events kick off on the Lasipalatsi Square on the Night of the Arts, August 22, 7-8 pm, and continue around Kallio’s Vaasankatu, which is the main venue for the 2013 festival.
The festival is realized within the international Connecting Cities network which develops an infrastructure for urban media art in collaboration between 11 cities. With the theme Networked City, the events in 2013 create art and technology -enabled connections between cities while reflecting on everyday life in the age of pervasive networks. The projects have been co-produced with FACT (Liverpool), IMAL (Brussels), and Medialab-Prado (Madrid).
The new festival site is now open at www.mediafacadeshelsinki.fi - on the site you will find programme updates, news as well as documentation of the 2010 and 2012 festivals.
