Learning materials for children's online art published

30.12.15

Educational materials developed in the Remiksi media and art education project are now published online. The materials (in Finnish) include workshop guidelines and smaller excercises to help teachers and parents to support children's use of the internet as creative platform.

The excercises range from creating a simple html page, a remix gif animation or your own meme by using online tools, to how to find and use creative commons materials. The workshop guidelines describe more ambitious processes such as building a game with Scratch. A set of introductory slides is offered for educators to support a discussion on the evolution and contexts of the internet. All materials are based on a set of workshops led by media artists at Helsinki primary schools in Spring 2015.
